First Look: ATN Tico LTV 640 Thermal Sight

ATN Corp. has launched a new clip-on thermal device, the ATN Tico LTV.  This small device which is placed in front of a traditional “daytime” riflescope allows that scope to have thermal capabilities. The Tico LTV 640 is equipped with a 60 hertz thermal sensor and has 640 x 480 resolution. At only .9 pound, it is also extremely light weight and is powered by a single 18650 battery that provides 8 hours of runtime.

The ATN Tico LTV is capable of providing black-hot, white-hot and full-color thermal pictures making it versatile to use across a different range of conditions. Because the unit is designed to attach and sit in front of the regular optic, no zeroing is required and it does not interfere with any settings between the rifle itself or its scope. All you need to do to use this sight is to align the Tico LTV with your riflescope’s reticle. In addition to this, Tico LTV clip-ons use the help of ATN’s SMS (scope mounting system) or Picatinny rail based QDM (quick detach mount) depending on the type of firearm. Besides the mount, shooters can also use this clip-on thermal sight as a handheld thermal monocular if needed. All you need to do is to swap out the scope eyepiece with a “human” eyepiece, which are sold by ATN Corp as optional accessories.
