We’re big believers in being prepared, and that means more than your favorite CCW pistol. Individual First Aid Kits (IFAKs) are a must-have for the range. A good medical box is a must-have for the home. If you’re more prepared than the average person, you might also have a bag or IFAK in your car or gym bag too.
But how about everything in between? Most people don’t carry EDC IFAKs, and they really should.

The Live The Creed EDC Pocket Trauma Kit covers your bases well and all in one place. It makes some concessions since this is designed for daily carry when most people don’t want to lug around a full medical bag. But it still makes room for what you need.
For small problems, alcohol and iodine wipes, Bacitracin ointment, small bandages, and wound strips mend common booboos. Just remember to replace and refill anything you use.
For big problems, the LTC kit gives you QuickClot dressing, gloves, and a SWAT Tourniquet. If you or someone near you has an injury that needs to be addressed with this part of the kit, you’re having a bad day. The good news is this is a big step above having nothing to save your life with. The bad news is that you still need to get to a hospital quickly.
One thing to look more closely at is the LTC choice of tourniquet. The SWAT is not approved by the TCCC, but that doesn’t make it a bad TQ. For an EDC TQ, the SWAT has some advantages. First, it’s small and easy to carry. Second, this is one of the few tourniquets that do fit all shapes and sizes.
A problem with the almost standard tourniquets with a windlass is they don’t fit small limbs well, nor do they fit animals well. The SWAT doesn’t have this problem and fits small limbs, large limbs, and many common animals like cats and dogs.
Being a TQ you have in your pocket is a big deal. For me, walking my dog and knowing my medical supplies can be used on me and my best friend is a solid gain.
But the SWAT isn’t perfect. It’s painful to use, and compared to a such as a CAT7 it’s a lot harder to put on with only one arm.
It’s a personal choice If the SWAT is right for you. If you don’t think it is, you may want to look into a full-size CAT7 or a smaller ETQ.
EASY TO CARRY?
Listen, just because this is a sponsored article doesn’t mean we aren’t going to test the thing we’re talking about. For the last month, the LTC EDC kit has been living in the cargo pocket of my 5.11 Strike pants which are my normal daily wear.
From trips to Costco, the gun store, the range, and even shooting matches like USPSA, Red Oktober: Cold War, and more — you’d never notice there was an LTC EDC kit in your pocket.
Like a wallet or a CCW, it just lives there. Always waiting, but never announcing itself.
Is it too large to fit in the back pocket of your skinny jeans? Yes. But for cargo pants, small bags, fanny packs, etc. the LTC EDC is small enough and light enough that you’re not going to notice it.
But… Can You Carry More?
Even though the goal is something you can EDC with ease, if you’re forward-thinking enough to want an EDC IFAK you’re probably the type that might try to add stuff to it. Sadly, you don’t have a lot of room.
Adding a pair of HyFin chest seals is possible, maybe adding a couple more band-aids or a packet of burn cream, or an over-the-counter med like Tums. But you’re not going to fit all of it. Or, if you do, it will be 1 Band-Aid, 1 packet of cream, and 1 antacid, at best.
The LTC EDC IFAK is small. It’s meant to be small. Don’t overcomplicate it. That said, you do have a small amount of wiggle room in case there is something for your situation that you want to add.
