Suspect Shot In The Face In Self-Defense

Jacksonville Shooting: A suspect shot in the face during a self-defense incident in Jacksonville’s Southside Estates neighborhood early Sunday morning, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect had previously discharged a shotgun at a group of people.


JACKSONVILLE, FL (2-minute read) — A man was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in the face early Sunday in the Southside Estates neighborhood, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police responded to reports of a shooting around 3 a.m. in the parking lot of a strip mall on Atlantic Boulevard, near Anniston Road. Upon arrival, they found that the man who had been shot in the face was actually the suspect in a previous shooting incident.

Jacksonville Shooting Justified

According to the initial investigation, the suspect and three other individuals were involved in a dispute. The suspect, armed with a shotgun, fired at the group. In response, one of the individuals in the group shot the suspect in self-defense.

After being shot, the suspect, who is in his 40s, managed to leave the scene in his car. First responders later located him at his home, where he was then transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The police reported that the victims of the shooting are cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.

Hopefully the suspect shot in the face will think twice next time he’s about to go ballistic. Only time will tell.
