Pulsar's Thermion 3 LRF is a thermal built like a classic riflescope
November 6, 2026
Seven years after the first Thermion, Pulsar has released the third generation of its classic-design thermal riflescope. Pulsar calls the Thermion 3 LRF "perfected," and RECOIL, after handling one at the latest CANCON, says it's easy to see why.
Key points
- Two models: The XT60 ($6,699.97) has a 1280×1024 HD sensor, 2–24X magnification, a 14.6-degree field of view, and 8.5 hours of battery life. The XR60 ($4,699.97) has a 640×480 sensor, 4–40X magnification, and 14 hours of battery life.
- Shared range: Both list a 3,390-yard detection range and a 1,312-yard laser rangefinder.
- Classic handling: They mount in 30mm rings and keep zoom and focus rings, a zoom throw lever, and a top-turret focusing wheel.
- Built in: A 60mm objective lens, a 2560×2560 AMOLED display, nine color palettes, recoil-activated video with 128 GB of storage, an integrated ballistic calculator, and Stream Vision 2 app compatibility.
- Durability: Aluminum housing, an IP67 rating, a -25 to +50 C temperature range, and a recoil rating of up to 6,000 J.
Quick take
The appeal is a thermal that still runs like a traditional scope, so shooters keep the controls they already know. The XT60 is the one for detail and a wider view. The XR60 gives up sensor resolution for more magnification, longer battery life, and a $2,000 lower price.
