Hornady held a 75th anniversary party on Saturday, June 22, at the Heartland Events Center, in Grand Island, NE. The celebration honored the employees, vendors, colleagues and friends who helped build the company into a legendary leader in the firearm industry.
A variety of food trucks were on hand, offering BBQ, Mexican and Chinese fare, as well as pizza, desserts and more. The event featured live music and an indoor concert by Big & Rich. Capping off the evening, appropriately, was a fireworks display. Self-guided tours of the Hornady West facility—site of final processing and distribution for the company—preceded the gala.
The big celebration is followed this week by the 4-H Shooting Sports National Championship at Heartland Public Shooting Park (HPSP), also in Grand Island, NE. Hornady took over management of the famed facility in February of this year.
Nearly 1,000 competitions from more than 40 states will compete in nine shooting sports at the range from June 23 to 28. “We are excited to host the 4-H National Championship at the Heartland Public Shooting Park for the 14th consecutive year,” said Tom Busch, HPSP Manager. “This event is open to the public and we encourage anyone interested to come out and enjoy the competition.”
HPSC is one of the largest, most complete public shooting facilities in the entire midwest. Amenities found there include world-class shotgun ranges, Olympic bunker trap, several handgun and rifle ranges out to 600-yards, archery ranges, action shooting bays, a seven-acre fishing pond and RV park.
