The Multi-Use Maxim Defense MSX PRS Suppressor in .338

Maxim Defense just announced the latest addition to its suppressor lines, one aimed squarely at big-game hunters. The Maxim Defense MSX PRS now comes in .338, specifically designed to minimize the increase in cyclic rate and gas blowback.

“We couldn’t be more excited about this new suppressor design,” said David Farrell, Vice President of Commercial Sales, Maxim Defense. “The goal of the PRS Suppressor was to increase reliability and longevity for the host firearm compared to other, more traditional, suppressor designs.”

The new MSX Suppressor features a MonoKore three-piece design. The suppressor core incorporates integrated carbon cutters for tube cleaning. Specifically designed for .338 caliber, rate of fire is limited to 20 rounds, at one round per second. The suppressor achieves superior strength, according to Maxim Defense. The build utilizes 7075-T6 aluminum with type-III hard coat anodizing and a grade-5 titanium thread insert.

Maxim Defense bills the MSX as delivering state-of-the-art features, including a significant reduction of sound signature well below hearing-safe levels. It also decreases flash signature and reduces recoil. The decrease in blowback reportedly helps increase reliability and longevity on the host firearm, as well.

The MSX full disassembles with common tools, making it fully serviceable. The new suppressor excels for hunting scenarios and PRS competition shooting.
